NESA
The forerunner to the NSW Education Standards Authority, originally known as the Board of Studies NSW, was established in 1990 to serve government and non-government schools in the development of school education for Years K-12 in New South Wales (NSW) Australia.
NESA provides educational leadership by developing quality curriculum and awarding secondary school credentials, including the Higher School Certificate (HSC). NESA develops and maintains its own Examination Systems, and originally conceived MarkManager as a complementary in-house capability. NESA has since established an Online Testing and Marking Support Unit to support its internal use of MarkManager and also the adoption of the solution by other organisations, both in Australia and abroad.
Today, The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) offers a MarkManager hosted service directly to customers, and also works as required with third party Managed Serviced Providers.

MarkManager was first used in volume production by the Board of Studies NSW for the end-of-year examination series in 2009, and usage has been steadily ramped up by NESA year-on-year ever since. The first external customer, the School Curriculum and Standards Authority of Western Australia, successfully implemented MarkManager for the WACE examinations in 2012.
